What To Bring

For a Writing Tutorial

The tutor can help even if you forget or do not have some materials, but we strongly recommend bringing the following things to your tutorial if you can:

  • A copy of your assignment
  • Any writing you have done so far (laptop or hard copy is fine)
  • A way to take notes or record ideas (laptop or a pencil/pen)
  • Any questions you have for the tutor (a mental or physical list)

If applicable, you may also wish to bring comments you have received from a professor on a draft and rubrics, checklists, or samples for the assignment.

For a Speaking Tutorial

The tutor can help even if you forget or do not have some materials, but we strongly recommend bringing the following things to your tutorial if you can:

  • Any materials you have created so far, such as a PowerPoint, draft or outline of a speech, or notecards (laptop or hard copy is fine)
  • A way to take notes or record ideas (laptop or a pencil/pen)
  • Any questions you have for the tutor (a mental or physical list)

If applicable, you may also wish to bring comments you have received from a professor on a draft and rubrics, checklists, or samples for the assignment.
