The Wellness Center is offering the community a means to dispose of unused or expired medication safely. Our goal is to help manage preventable drug abuse and accidental poisonings on campus. Once medication drops into our RxDestroyer disposal system, the medication is immediately deactivated.
We can accept pills, capsules, tablets, liquids, lozenges, suppositories, powders, creams, patches and lollipops. We cannot accept antacids or effervescent medication, or hardware such as syringes, glass or bottles.
Safe Disposal of Syringes and Needles
Do you need a safe way to dispose of syringes, needles, diabetic supplies or razor blades? Please stop by the Wellness Center to pick up a sharps container. We have a variety of options including travel size for a backpack or purse. This service is at no cost and open to the entire campus community- staff, faculty and students. Once full, simply return the sealed container and we will take care of the rest! This program has been made possible by our partners at the St. Mary's County Health Department, Harm Reduction Program.
