Following the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and applicable state law, St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of handicap or disability. As a result, SMCM will consider requests for reasonable accommodations for students who self-discloses a disability or disabling health conditions. The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) works with students to promote access on our campus. The most current policies and guidance for the office are posted on its website https://www.smcm.edu/office-accessibility-services/policies-and-procedures/the-complaint-process-and-student-handbook/; this includes grievance processes related to accommodation decisions or accessibility support. Students are encouraged to reach out to OAS (adasupport@smcm.edu; 240-895-2250) for more specific advice about how to apply for accommodations, implementing accommodations at SMCM, or where to access needed information.
