Sociology is the study of culture, social structure, human interaction, and social change. Guided by faculty, students investigate how factors such as gender, race, and ethnicity are involved in social and economic inequality, and how that plays into other social issues such as those surrounding health and well‐being.

The sociology major is concerned with human behavior, interactions, culture, and social organization. Research in the sociological field often seeks to inform changes in social policy.
