Are you wondering whether teaching physics is the right career for you? This short activity can help you get the facts to make an informed decision.
We have designed a pathway for you to become a highly-qualified high school physics teacher. If you choose this path, you’ll major in physics (fundamental or applied concentration) with a minor in educational studies. After that, you will complete the MAT. Along the way, you’ll be advised by two experts: a professor in physics and a professor in educational studies. You’ll also have early teaching opportunities, including being a Learning Assistant at SMCM and student teaching. You will complete the program with an MAT and eligible for a Standard Professional Certificate with a Master’s pay grade.
