Physics majors are prepared for a wide range of careers. About one third go to physics graduate school, about one third attend other graduate programs, and one third enter directly into employment.

Current Position: Received the Geneva Boone Award for outstanding St. Mary’s Project for her work modeling hull hydrostatics of 17th-century sailing vessels. She also performed atomic physics research, which was presented at a national conference. She is certified as an Able Seaman — Special and sails historic tall ships.

Current Position: Travis received the Physics Department award. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from the College of William & Mary, and is now a post-doctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards & Technology. In 2012, he was the NASA Virginia Space Grant Consortium Graduate Research Fellow.
