We have numerous opportunities for students – majors and non-majors – to perform. Students requiring an accompanist are provided with one. We have five informal Friday afternoon recitals each semester, during which students perform a song or short song cycle, a short instrumental work, or a movement
from a long instrumental work – whatever needs an informal “tryout.” Students may, as they choose and as appropriate, perform full-length evening recitals. Most music majors do at least one such formal recital in fulfillment of graduation requirements. On occasion, and as appropriate, students have concerto opportunities with the college orchestra.
