The Office of Information Technology has replaced the current 20+ year-old phone system with a new phone system. The new system uses Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), voice-based phone calls using an internet connection instead of a local telephone company. VoIP converts your voice into a digital signal, compresses it, and sends it over the internet.
The benefits to the St. Mary’s College of Maryland are:
- Lower costs
- Flexibility
- Mobility
- Remote collaboration
- High-quality telephone support system
