Mission
The mission of the Office of Information Technology (OIT) is to provide optimal infrastructure support for, and expert guidance in the best use of, current and emerging information technologies that assist the educational and administrative activities of our students, faculty and staff.
Organization
OIT is led by Jenell Sargent, Assistant Vice President of Information Technology (CIO), and is organized into five support areas:
IT Support Center
A help desk and call center located in the front lobby of Baltimore Hall (right across from the library under an overpass) provides the first line of support for users of information technology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The IT Support Center is staffed by specially-trained students who provide tier-one IT support during business hours.
User Support Services
Director: Vacant
Supports the hardware and software needs of individuals, offices, and learning spaces on campus; administers One Card services; and provides best-use and training support for the College’s learning management resource system (Blackboard) along with other administrative and academic software applications used on campus.
Network Support Services
Director: Mark Fleming
Responsible for network infrastructure, data center operations and telecommunications services, including phone, internet, and wireless communications.
Enterprise Support Services
Director: Vacant
Responsible for support of administrative systems (Jenzabar) and Institutional Reporting. Provides back-end administrative support and specialized programming services. Administers the intranet (Portal) site.
Instructional Systems & Support
Director: Jennifer Falkowski
Responsible for campus media infrastructure, production & instruction, and event support.
