Fiscal Administrator (Dodge PAC)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Fiscal Administrator. This position performs a variety of intricate accounting and administrative tasks in support of the Dodge Performing Arts Center (Dodge PAC) and ensures accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements. This is a responsible position that works with minimal supervision. Duties include performing a variety of complex clerical and bookkeeping work, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, and preparing financial and statistical reports. In addition to budgetary and fiscal responsibilities, this position supports the administrative management of the Performing Arts department and the Educational Studies program.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalency required; associate’s degree preferred, including courses in typing, bookkeeping, and fiscal management. Seven years of responsible experience in bookkeeping, accounting, office management, administrative work, or secretarial assignments involving advanced records keeping (directly related business school or college courses may be substituted equally for up to one year’s experience); Must be bondable. Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping theories and practices and accepted office procedures; some knowledge of intermediate accounting procedures. Must be able to perform a volume of numerical detail work accurately, have ability to make difficult mathematical computations with and without mechanical assistance (ability to operate calculator by touch), and must be proficient in the use of computer-based spreadsheets and related software. Strong verbal and written communication skills and exceptional organizational skills are required. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. Salary is $46,350, depending on qualifications and experience.
