Circulation Information Assistant (part-time)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the part-time contingent position of Circulation Information Assistant. The Circulation Information Assistant is primarily responsible for providing service at the St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s public circulation desk on the main floor of the Library & Archives. The assistant will work evenings and weekends and works closely with library circulation interns in maintaining library services and assisting users with questions. When working with the library circulation interns, the assistant would be responsible for coaching behaviors in the moment, addressing mistakes, correcting mistakes and demonstrating the correct processes and communicating to the Customer Service Supervisor any issues that require intervention. Anticipated start date is January 2025.
This is a part-time contingent position during the academic year (fall to spring) paying $17.25 per hour; schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Required Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive programs.
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience working in library public services and/or retail customer service.
- Must be flexible and adaptable.
- Must be detail-oriented, reliable, and dependable.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
- Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
