Bus Driver (Part-time)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the part-time contingent position of Bus Driver. This position involves independent judgment and will be responsible for transporting students/faculty/staff to and from campus and extracurricular events, following a scheduled route, and ensuring the safety of all passengers. This is a part-time position with a variable schedule that will include some evenings and weekends. The hourly pay is $35 to $40 depending on experience. This position does not supervise other employees.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and at least three years of driving experience. Must have a good knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within the transportation industry, including DOT regulations and required to possess a current DOT Medical Card. Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle as described in CFR 391 and must possess a current CDL A or B license with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsement. The successful applicant will be subject to a criminal background check and random substance abuse testing. Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license, must have excellent driving history, and be available during non-traditional working hours. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
