The University of Baltimore’s chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors in history, hosted its annual conference on April 22, 2017 at the William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center.
For this regional meeting, students prepared and submitted research papers for formal judging by professionals in the field. For some, it was an early opportunity to experience what the study of history involves and how works are assessed, based on the work’s merits, sources, collateral materials, representative data and statistics, and a number of similar factors.
Students and professors from institutions including George Washington University, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Hood College, the University of Virginia-Wise, Towson University, McDaniel College, Bowie State University, Catholic University of America, Georgetown University, Washington College and the University of Baltimore attended.
