Hours of operation AY 21-22
- Library: Sunday 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
- These hours will be assessed after the fall and changed, if needed, based on traffic and feedback.
- Archives: By appointment only.
- Media Center: Access to the 3rd floor will align with the library hours; access to services (equipment room, recording studio, and lab) will be determined by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Please reach out to them directly by submitting a Media Center ticket at https://servicedesk.smcm.edu/
- W&SC: Appointments can be made through their online scheduler; walk-in services are available only if a tutor is on duty. Hours are pending but will not extend beyond library hours; no evenings and weekends; typical hours vary based on tutor availability, appointment demand, and budget.
- CITL: Operating hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m., CITL only (this will be monitored by both CITL and library staff). Monday-Friday 5 p.m.-8 a.m., student access to common area and computer lab; Saturday and Sunday 24-hour access. Signage will be posted at the entrance as well as in the computer lab.
Access to spaces and services:
- On-call reference librarians
- Will be offered with both in-person and virtual sessions.
- Appointments preferred outside of on-call hours.
- Face coverings required unless patron is actively eating or drinking, monitored by staff; symptoms check required (faculty, staff, and students complete SMCM Daily Symptom Tracker; community patrons are to complete symptom tracker prior to entering the building and be prepared to show CLEARED status, if needed).
- Study rooms
- Return to regular room capacity (based on size of each room).
- Face coverings requirement remains in place.
- Open to community members
- Community patrons are to complete the SMCM Daily Symptom Tracker prior to entering the building and be prepared to show CLEARED status, if needed. Signage with the Wellness Center website and QR code are posted at the entrance of the library lobby and once you enter the library itself.
- Item loan/access
- All items available for loan will return to regular loan status.
- Access to all collections will be granted.
Outreach and engagement
- We are working towards identifying areas and services we provide that need to be brought to attention. We will be using social media, print advertising, and displays within the library to highlight these services for student awareness.
- Using social media, print advertising, and displays to promote events taking place at the library (book sales, displays, etc.) and events sponsored by the library.
