When snow is in the forecast, the Grounds Department jumps into action.  Implementing snow removal plans that have been developed in advance, Grounds takes control of pre-treating common areas such as walkways, Campus roads and parking lots.  As snow begins to fall, roads and parking lots are plowed and walkways cleared.

The entire Grounds Department is put on alert working on a 24 hour operation cycle if necessary to ensure the safety of the Campus community.  The Grounds Staff works diligently to clear snow while also applying salt and de-icing materials to help with and maintain the clearing of  building entrances, steps, handicapped accesses and loading ramps.
