The general educational objective of the business administration and management major is the development of a fundamental understanding of the basic principles, concepts, models, and practices employed by business leaders in organizing the workplaces of the future.
Upon graduation a business administration and management major should:
- Gain a solid foundation in business administration and management including the ability to read and critically assess financial literature, organize, analyze, and present, written and orally, their business and financial knowledge.
- Employ critical thinking and creative problem solving to understand complex business problems and solutions available in their management.
- Develop the ability to design business plans and discern the knowledge that can be gained from implementation, but also understand the limitations of both modern business practices and financial analysis.
- Have the skills and confidence necessary to take business initiatives from idea to implementation.
