The 2019 WGSX Colloquium focuses on the #MeToo movement. The complexities of sexual consent, assault, and harassment are explored both within and outside of the United States.
The speakers will examine the social, political, and ethical issues surrounding the movement, as well as the ways in which our unique social identities impact our experiences of sex and sexual misconduct. By questioning the definitions of consent and our social stereotypes about sexuality, society may learn more about prevention of assault and how to better acknowledge and prevents individual experiences of sexual trauma.
