Affiliations with Historic St. Mary’s City, Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, and the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory generate rich opportunities for students to engage in internships, independent studies, laboratory work, and hands-on professional research.
Study beyond St. Mary’s, and branch out. There are opportunities through Historic St. Mary’s City to participate in hands-on learning.

A 10-week course in archaeological methodology sponsored by Historic St. Mary’s City in partnership with St. Mary’s College.
Research Methods course (ANTH385)
You have the option to design and carry out archaeology surveys at properties in St. Mary’s county. Much of this work results in internship opportunities.
