Study Abroad with Sociology

Glencora

Glencora '09 chose to study abroad with the International Honors Program (IHP). IHP have various theme based, multi-country study abroad programs. Glencora chose the community health program and traveled to Switzerland, India, China, and South Africa. In her program, Glencora learned how individuals and communities respond to health consequences of their biological,ecological, economic, political and soci-cultural environments. Renee and Gambian Children

Renee '09 chose to study abroad with one of St. Mary's signature program in The Gambia. Her work and experience are the premise for her SMP. Her SMP is a demographic profile/population study of the Gambia along with a education study to examine the relationship between education and development in the Gambia.

Molly McKeeMolly McKee '10 chose to study abroad in Alba, another St. Mary's Signature program. The signature program allows students to complete their general education requirements while studying abroad.

Iben Ricket '09 traveled to Patagonia and Easter Island on the Leave No Trace study tour. Students learned and implemented the 7 principles of 'leave no trace' while back packing in Patagonia. The students also learned aboutIben McCormick-Ricket '09archeology and environmental sensitivities in Easter Island.
