The next film of the Dance for the Camera series, sponsored by St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Department of Theater, Film, and Media Studies, is “Nora” to be screened at noon Tuesday, April 5, in Montgomery Hall 111. Winner of the Grand Prize at Black Maria Film & Video Festival, “Nora” is based on the life of Zimbabwean-born dancer Nora Chipaumire. The final part of the series, which explores the synthesis of dance and cinematography, is at 8:15 p.m. April 11, and showcases eight short films in Cole Cinema.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
