Travel Writer Gives a Reading Dec. 2

Travel blogger Nick Tambakeras will read from his work at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, in Daugherty-Palmer Commons as part of the St. Mary's College of Maryland VOICES Reading Series. Tambakeras, with his dog Nature Boy, has been recording his U.S. travel adventures as creative non-fiction blog entries and for print publication. They can be found at www.hugging-the-road.com. The reading is free and open to the public.

 Recipient of the Frederick J. Dockstader award for outstanding fiction, he has written for diverse publications, from Pittsburgh Magazine to the Hellenic Voice, which covers Greek-American news.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
