Beatles and Basie - Big Band Jazz Concert Dec. 3

A Big Band Jazz Concert will feature the music of Steely Dan, the Beatles, and Count Basie at 8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, in Auerbach Auditorium at St. Mary's Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Conducted by Don Stapleson, the concert also features local favorite vocalist Sandy Mahoney. Stapleson, accomplished saxophonist and flutist, has performed with Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Martha Reeves.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
