Hiram College Professor of English Joyce Dyer will read from her works at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in Daugherty-Palmer Commons, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, as part of the annual VOICES Reading Series. Also the director of the Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing and Literature at Hiram, the award-winning author has written four books and is currently working on a project about John Brown, the controversial 19th- century abolitionist.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
