Services for Faculty

Library Faculty Liaisons

Library faculty liaisons (also known as subject librarians or reference and instruction librarians) connect teaching faculty to the library's collections and services. Every department and cross-disciplinary area of study has a designated library faculty liaison who is available for

  • classroom instruction
  • consultation on the development of class assignments
  • research assistance
  • collection development

Contact your library faculty liaison to learn more about how they can help you.

Librarians provide instruction in support of the fundamental liberal arts skills of information literacy and critical thinking. Learn more about the possibilities for incorporating library instruction into your classes and the people who can help you do so.

Library Resources and Blackboard

The library has many electronic resources that you may want to include in your course sites. Learn more about the different ways you can incorporate library resources in Blackboard.

Course Reserves

Faculty may place items on physical or electronic course reserve to support classroom instruction. Please familiarize yourself with the course reserves guidelines and copyright information. Course Reserve request forms are available through the SMCM Portal.
