The Office of Institutional Research & Planning (OIRP) at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is the source for official institutional information and contributes to the high standard of excellence through supporting College goals by providing timely information to assist with planning, decision-making, and reporting.
OIRP is dedicated to data transparency, a core tenet of data science. We believe that data collection methods should be shared and open to scrutiny, and that results of data collection and research should be shared with campus constituents and, when appropriate, the general public. In support of data transparency, OIRP is committed to providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive data, and to fully disclosing institutional data to the extent allowed under relevant privacy laws (e.g., FERPA) and will not suppress or manipulate data at the request of any individual or office.
Consumer Information & Student Right-To-Know
St. Mary’s College of Maryland is required by U.S. Department of Education, the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy & Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1990, and the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 to provide Consumer Information to all current and prospective students and their families certain information about the College. This consumer information includes but is not limited to annual security and safety reports, college athletic programs, degree completion and graduation requirements, financial aid, graduation rates, and institutional operation.
Shared Responsibility
The release of requested information is a shared responsibility between the Office of Institutional Research & Planning, the Registrar, and the requesting individual or department.
