The Peer Health Educators collaborate with Counseling Services to raise awareness for these important mental health issues. Counselors administer self-tests, and Peer Health Educators distribute educational literature and prizes for participating.
The first-ever SexFest took place in October 2011, and has become an annual event! SexFest consists of a broad range of on- and off-campus organizations exhibiting in a conference-like setting. At the event, several student clubs, including the First Responder Network and the Peer Health Educators, present games and activities to engage and educate attendees on issues of contraceptive use, sexually transmitted infections, consent, and sexual and gender diversity. Other on-campus as well as off-campus organizations present additional information and resources, both in the exhibition hall and in a lengthier talk format. Keynote speakers have presented on "Sex Toys 101" and "The Horrors of Sex: use of sexuality in horror films."

Additionally, the PHEs receive training in mentoring students who are quitting smoking on a one-on-one basis. The Peer Health Educators bring smoking cessation programming to campus throughout the year.
, the Peer Health Educators collaborated with SMCM Programs Board to organize a moustache contest and bake sale to educate about men's health and raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Safer Sex Week
One week in February is designated to improving the campus dialog about safe sex practices. Peer Health Educators bring condoms (male and female) and lubricant out into the student population, along with important messages about sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy prevention, and consent.
Peer2Peer Alcohol Class
In August 2011, the Peer Health Educators created the curriculum for an all new format of teaching an alcohol and/or marijuana education course for students with student conduct sanctions. The course is offered several times throughout the semester and is taught by Peer Health Educators.
