Student Responsibilities/Benefits:
The Fellow will be responsible for creating a year-round marketing and communications plan for the campus to promote multicultural events, activities, and forums. He/she will study current multicultural initiatives and research what our peer institutions serving their student population. Along the same lines, He/she will conduct research to determine the best practice to engage students in crucial meaningful dialogue of cultural competence and diversity beyond race. Other tasks and responsibilities may including assisting with the development of surveys to assess programs offered, needs being met, needs not being met, and identify any gaps in programming initiatives for multicultural students. Update/modify the MAPP website presence to be more useful and user-friendly for students.
Student Qualifications:
The applicant should be a current resident student who has lived on campus for at least one year. The applicant should also have knowledge and experience with popular methods of social networking, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, blogging, and YouTube. It would be a benefit if the applicant had experience creating and maintaining websites. This person should be creative, energetic, and enthusiastic. A general understanding of various assessment methods is desired.
