On Campus Jobs


The Career Center compiles a list of jobs on campus that is released to students on the first day of each semester and in March for Summer break. Many offices require that you complete the standard student employment application. Other offices require their own applications, or request a cover letter and resume. Please see specific job descriptions for instructions. Submit your applications as soon as possible directly to the contact listed in the posting.

Note that some offices, such as Residence Life, Student Activities, OIT, and the Bookstore, hire a large number of students throughout the year. Contact these offices directly if you are interested, or watch for their promotions.


The SMCM Professional Fellowship Program, funded in part by the SGA, is open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. These internship-like experiences include a high level of responsibility and autonomy and pay $10/hour. They are available at the beginning of every fall semester.


The Federal Work Study program is administered out of the Financial Aid Office on campus. If you have been told that you are eligible for work study funds, please contact Denise Merican with any questions (dmmerican@smcm.edu, 240-895-3000, Glendening 131). You might also consider inquiring with those offices where you would like to work.


The purpose of this site is to allow SMCM students with childcare experience to connect with SMCM Faculty and Staff families who are looking for babysitters to care for their children. Students are able to add their information each semester here.  

Faculty and Staff may request access to the list by contacting the Career Center.
