Sarah Michele Guineviere Pyles Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2011 by the family of Sarah Pyles to benefit students who have academic merit and financial need, and who have completed at least one year at St. Mary's with preference given to political science and/or art history students. Selection is based on a winning one-page essay on "how I would change the world and make it a better place."
Sarah was a second-year student at St. Mary's when she passed away suddenly while studying abroad in Alba, Italy. An avid reader since childhood, Sarah was majoring in political science with minors in women, gender, and sexuality studies and art history. Her desire was to change the world and make it a better place through international relations.
