Colors: Royal Blue, Yellow Gold, and White

Mascot: Seahawk

Accreditation: St. Mary's College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Carnegie Foundation Classification for the College is "Baccalaureate - Arts and Sciences." SMCM was awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter in the fall of 1997.

Typical annual costs: for 2009-2010 for a full-time student living on campus with room and board: $23,174 (Maryland residents) and $34,567 (out-of-state students).

Student organizations in Fall 2009: 117 campus clubs and organizations and 8 national honor societies.

Athletic teams: NCAA Division III teams: Baseball (men only), Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey (women only), Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, Swimming, and Volleyball (women only). In addition, the nationally ranked SMCM Varsity Sailing Team competes in ICSA sponsored events.

Campus:

Mainly residential with 85% of full-time undergraduate students living on campus.
St. Mary’s occupies 47 buildings on a 361-acre campus on the St. Mary’s River.
The College’s facilities include:

- an auditorium
- an NCAA-qualifying swimming pool
- an outdoor track
- six tennis courts
- two gymnasiums
- a variety of sailboats and other water craft
- a riverfront boathouse and dock

Student Data:

As of Fall 2009, the college had 1,994 full-time students and 66 part-time.
The average SAT scores of full-time, first-year students was 1230, average high school GPA = 3.78.
Thirty-eight countries and 34 states are represented among the students.
